Pan American upcoming stars go for gold in Buenos Aires

Nearly 900 young karatekas from 22 Pan American countries gather this week in Buenos Aires (Argentina) to clash for the continental crown. The 29th edition of the PKF Junior, Cadet & U21 Championships will put the highlight on the future Karate stars in the continent in four anticipated days of competition. 

Nearly 900 young karatekas from 22 countries gather this week in Buenos Aires (Argentina) to clash for the Pan American crown. The 29th edition of the PKF Junior, Cadet & U21 Championships will put the highlight on the future Karate stars of the continent in four anticipated days of competition. 

While the Karate family keeps counting the days to the historic 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina anticipates the thrill and excitement of the Karate competition by hosting this week the 2017 PKF Junior, Cadet & U21 Championships. The impact of Karate among youngsters will be further displayed in the event that will present the most promising competitors in the continent. 

Among these new names to watch, Dominican Republic’s Nykolai Josef Arango Soto will try to confirm his rising status following his bronze medal in the 2017 PKF Senior Championships and after finishing in third place at the Male Kata competition of the 2015 Junior World Championships. 

Meanwhile, current Senior Pan American runner-up in Female Kumite -68kg Sachiko Ramos of Mexico will try to prevail at the U21 competition in Buenos Aires, so to become one of the stars of the event. Among the many favourites, bronze medallists at the PKF Senior Championships Nicolas Bisson of Canada in Male Kumite -60Kg and Yorgelis Salazar Camacho of Venezuela in Female Kumite -55kg hope to shine in Buenos Aires. 

The competition starts on Wednesday, August 22 and the last medals will be awarded on Saturday, August 26.
