WKF Vice President attends historic Australian Olympic Committee AGM

World Karate Federation Vice President and OKF representative Michael Kassis participated in the historic Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC). It was a momentous occasion as it was the first time that the AOC Annual General Meeting was attended by IOC President Thomas Bach. 

World Karate Federation Vice President and OKF representative Michael Kassis participated in the historic Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC). It was a momentous occasion as it was the first time that the AOC Annual General Meeting was attended by IOC President Thomas Bach. 

The event was held in Sydney's Foundation Hall on May 4. IOC President Thomas Bach addressed the representatives of the AOC for the first time, and he received the President's Trophy from AOC President John Coates.

WKF Vice President Michael Kassis represented Karate at the gatherings. Kassis who is also the president of the Oceania Karate Federation briefly met with IOC President Thomas Back and AOC President John Coates to discuss the development of Karate and the Olympic prospects of the sport.
