WKF President praises high level of refereeing at Islamic Solidarity Games

WKF President Antonio Espinós highlighted the progress of refereeing as showcased at the 2022 Islamic Solidarity Games.
Mr Espinós travelled to Konya (Turkiye) to attend the 2022 edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games. The head of Karate’s international governing body took time to meet with the referee team on site, and Mr Espinós praised the efforts of WKF referees to improve and adapt to the ever-changing times.
WKF President Antonio Espinós said:
“The progress of Karate is undoubtedly connected to the improvement of the judging aspects of the competition. Therefore, over the last years, the WKF has endeavoured to ensure the consistent and permanent development of refereeing at all the WKF competitions, especially at multi-sport events such as the Islamic Solidarity Games.
“I want to thank all the referees attending the event here for their efforts to make the most of the opportunities to progress”.
WKF President attended the Referees’ briefing in Konya together with WKF Vice-President Bechir Cherif, WKF Executive Committee member Ibrahim Al Gannas, and Turkiye Karate Federation President Aslan Abid Uguz. Over 30 referees participated in the Karate competition of the 2022 Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya.
