WKF President discusses World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships with Chilean Minister of Sports

WKF President Antonio Espinós met with the Chilean Minister of Sports Pauline Kantor today as the 2019 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships started in Santiago (Chile). The head of Karate’s international governing body received the confirmation from the national sports authorities that the best conditions for the development of the event were guaranteed.

The head of Karate’s international governing body received the confirmation from the national sports authorities that the best conditions for the development of the event were guaranteed. 

The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Chilean Ministry of Sports. Mr Espinós attended the gathering together with Chilean Karate Federation President María Angélica Coronil. The 2019 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships begun today amid the situation of unrest in the ry. 

The Minister of Sports assured the members of the Karate delegation that all the resources of the national sports authorities will be put in place to ensure the successful outcome of the event. 

“I was pleased to meet with the Minister of Sports today. Mrs Kantor shared with us the intention of the Chilean government of providing the best conditions for the event. She assured us that we will receive as much support as possible to make sure the championships are a success,” said WKF President Antonio Espinós after the meeting. 

“We were informed that this tournament is the only sporting event being held in Chile this week. This shows the importance of our championships,” added Mr Espinós.
