WKF President Antonio Espinós attended Wednesday the meeting of the Executive Committee of the African Karate Federation (UFAK).

The gathering was held in Cairo (Egypt) on the eve of the 2021 UFAK Karate Championships to be held at the Egyptian capital from December 3 to 5.

Mr Espinós travelled to Cairo to attend the tournament and to participate in the different events of the UFAK. The meeting of the Executive Committee had discussions on the upcoming UFAK Elective Congress on top of the agenda.

WKF President Antonio Espinós said:

“The future of Karate in Africa is at stake, and now more than ever we can use the opportunity of the tremendous growth of our sport in the continent to open a new era of Karate here.

“As UFAK moves closer to the historic elections tomorrow, it is essential to understand that we must do our utmost to perpetuate the progress of Karate in Africa while ensuring the health and wellbeing of the African Karate family as the top priority.”

The UFAK will celebrate its Elective Congress Thursday when the new President and Executive Committee will be elected.
