WKF President Attends Closing Ceremony of WKF Youth Camp 2024 in Porec

The 16th edition of the WKF Youth Camp concluded with a magnificent closing ceremony in Porec (Croatia), marking the end of three days of one of the most popular youth Karate events in the world. The closing ceremony was headlined by WKF President Antonio Espinós who highlighted the success of the event and the popularity of the sport among youngsters.

Over 4,000 young karate enthusiasts from 85 countries have gathered in Porec, Croatia, to participate in the highly successful edition of the WKF Youth Camp. The closing ceremony was chaired by the President of the Croatian Karate Union and WKF Assistant General Secretary Davor Cipek and had all the instructors as well as numerous karate officials from around the globe in attendance.

 

WKF President Antonio Espinós said after the ceremony:

 

"The WKF Youth Camp is a testament to the immense popularity of karate among young people worldwide. This event not only showcases the talents of the next generation of karatekas but also fosters a spirit of values and cultural exchange among participants from diverse backgrounds. As we wrap up a fantastic 16th edition of the Youth Camp, this event is stronger and more successful than ever, demonstrating how much our sport can contribute to the well-being of younger generations worldwide.

 

“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Croatian Karate Union and its President, Davor Cipek, for their exceptional efforts in hosting yet another fantastic event in Porec and for their efforts to extend the legacy of youth Karate.”

 

 

Over 4000 youngsters from 85 countries participated in this year’s edition of the WKF Youth Camp.

 

Participants engaged in intensive training sessions throughout the camp, led by some of the world's top karate instructors. This year’s list of instructors included Olympic medallists Luigi Busa of Italy, Anzhelika Terliuga of Ukraine, Damian Quintero of Spain, and Ali Sofuoglu of Turkiye, and European Champion and local star Andjelo Kvesic.

 

While the success of this year's camp reaffirms the commitment of the WKF to nurturing the future of karate, top karate events continue this week in Porec, as the 2024 Karate 1-Youth League begins in the Croatian city.
