WKF President Antonio Espinós Meets with UFAK President Souleymane Gaye in Madrid to Review Progress of Karate in Africa

The President of the World Karate Federation (WKF), Antonio Espinós, met with the President of the African Karate Federation (UFAK), Souleymane Gaye, at the WKF headquarters in Madrid. With the upcoming UFAK Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships in Tunis, Tunisia on the horizon, the meeting focused on the preparation of activities for the event in Tunis and the ongoing strengthening of the relationship between the WKF and UFAK.
The discussions between the two leaders were centred on ensuring the smooth execution of the UFAK Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships, which is set to take place in Tunis, Tunisia from September 6 to 8. The championships are a key event in the African karate calendar, and meticulous planning is being undertaken to guarantee their success.
A significant part of the agenda was devoted to reviewing karate’s development across Africa, a critical aspect of the WKF's strategic plan. With the popularity of karate in Africa experiencing remarkable growth in recent years, the WKF and UFAK are dedicated to harnessing this momentum and providing opportunities for the sport to continue developing even more in the continent.
WKF President Antonio Espinós said after the meeting:
