WKF mourns passing of Jordan Karate Federation president Dr Mouin Faouri

The World Karate Federation is saddened by the loss of Dr Mouin Faouri. President of the Jordan Karate Federation and one of the most relevant personalities of the sport in the region, Dr Mouin Faouri passed away on Sunday. 

The World Karate Federation is saddened by the loss of Dr Mouin Faouri. President of the Jordan Karate Federation and one of the most relevant personalities of the sport in the region, Dr Mouin Faouri passed away on Sunday.

Doctor in Business and Economics, Mouin Abdel-Majid Faouri was a respected Karate official and took the sport to new heights in Jordan, as attested in the 2018 AKF Senior Championships which were held in Amman and which had Jordan taking the third place in the final medal table.

Dr Mouin Faouri also played an active role in the Asian Karate Federation. He was an elected member of the Executive Committee of the AKF from the period 2019-2023.

A master in Shotokan style, Dr Mouin Faouri worked relentlessly for the progress of the sport in Jordan and owned a dojo in Jordan capital of Amman.

The WKF will remember Dr Mouin Faouri for his unwavering devotion to Karate and his determination to develop the sport in his home country of Jordan and around the world. The WKF and the global Karate Family extends its deepest condolences to Dr Mouin Faouri’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
