Successful Karate 1 Youth League Porec crowns future karate stars

The second event of the 2021 Karate 1-Youth League concluded in Porec (Croatia)

The second event of the 2021 Karate 1-Youth League concluded in Porec (Croatia) with aspiring karateka from all over the world showcasing exceptional level. Athletes from Ukraine and Italy topped the medal table of the event.

A true celebration of the strength of Karate at young ages, the 2021 Karate 1-Youth League Porec was a massive and successful demonstration of the outstanding sporting spirit of first-class Karate events.

After finishing the tournament with six gold medals, Ukraine showed the efficiency of their grassroots programmes. Ukrainian representatives topped the medal table with the gold medals taken by Mykhailo Shumovych in U14 Kumite Male -50kg, Serhii Stankov in U14 Kumite Male -40kg, Violetta Makarenko in U14 Kumite Female +47kg, Oleksandr Borys in Cadet Kumite Male +70kg, Oleksandr Kozachov in Junior Kumite Male -76kg, and Dariia Bulai in Cadet Kumite Female +54kg.

Italian athletes were also the big winners of the event with four golds. Sonia Inzoli in Junior Kata Female, Alessandra Schicchi in Junior Kumite Female -59kg, Steven Ramos Matt in Junior Kumite Male -68kg, and Alvise Toniolo in U14 Kumite Male +55kg sent the Italian delegation to the top of the medal table. Montenegro and Azerbaijan also registered deserving performances with three gold medals respectively.

After the successful Karate 1-Youth League Porec, the first-class series of international events for youngsters will travel to Istanbul (Turkey) from September 17 to 19.
