Karate Star Sara Cardin of Italy was honoured by the Italian Army for her contribution to promoting the values of the Armed Forces of her country among the media and the public.

Karate Star Sara Cardin of Italy was honoured by the Italian Army for her contribution to promoting the values of the Armed Forces of her country among the media and the public.

Division General Paolo Raudino handed to commendation to the former European and World champion who is also a corporal at the Army. As a representative of the institution, Cardin has promoted the Army in her many media appearances.

“She has engaged in an intense media activity aimed at giving prestige to the Army and its founding values, managing to effectively illustrate the sporting and human values that distinguish the military athletes, who continuously represent the army and Italy in the national and international context,” read the distinction.

Sara Cardin currently takes the eighth position in WKF World Ranking in the category of Female Kumite -55kg. She took medals in two events in 2020 including the gold at the Karate 1-Premier League Salzburg. A six-time European Championships medallist, Cardin has three continental titles under her belt and became World Champion in 2014. She was the 2018 Grand Winner of the category
