WKF President Antonio Espinós headed Friday a meeting via videoconference aiming to outline the tools and intelligence protocols to enhance the referees’ assessment in competitions.

The meeting had the participation of WKF officials Javier Escalante, Robert Hamara, and Dusana Augustovičová, and representatives of WKF’s technology partner, Sportdata, with WKF President Antonio Espinós leading the discussions. Following the decision of the WKF Executive Committee last week, the progress and modernisation of the judges’ body were on top of the agenda.

Based on data application, the updated intelligence provided by Sportdata aims at offering modern and functional tools to further develop the education and development of referees’ performance in competitions. The ground-breaking system was reviewed at the meeting today as the World Karate Federation continues streamlining its structures to further take the sport to new heights.
