Record-breaking Karate 1 Youth League event concludes in Venice

The 2022 Karate 1-Youth League Venice concluded Sunday with a celebration of the strength of Karate among youngsters. The younger categories took the stage on the final day.  

Hosts of Italy continued adding medals to their count as Matteo Freda claimed the title of U14 Kata Male. Meanwhile, the representatives of Croatia were among the big winners of the day with two gold medals. Ervin Soltic won the title in U14 Kumite Male +55kg and Nikola Birac took the Croatian flag to the top of the podium in U14 Kumite Male -55kg.

As it happened in the previous days, the universality of Karate was showcased on the final day of the competition. Nine different countries took home the gold medals at stake. Eleni Sitara of Greece won the crown in U14 Kata Female, while Adrianna Meller of Poland prevailed in U14 Kumite Male -42kg.

Yasmine Rejraji of Belgium was the winner of the U14 Kumite Female -47kg and Sejla Ascic extended the impressive performance of representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the crown in U14 Kumite Female +47kg.

The strongest nations in the world also celebrated victories on Sunday. Serbia opened their gold medal count on Sunday with Filip Krstin?s triumph in U14 Kumite Male -45kg just as Jusuf Saljiu of Montenegro in U14 Kumite Male -50kg while Maksym Viechkanov of Ukraine prevailed in U14 Kumite Male -40kg.

The next Karate 1-Youth League event will be held in Fujairah (UAE) from February 23 to 26, 2023.
