Powerhouse nations dominate day 2 of #Karate1Fujairah

The 2023 Karate 1-Youth League Fujairah entered its second day of the competition today as athletes from the top nations of the sport took the spotlight.

African powerhouse country of Egypt was one of the most successful delegations today after winning three gold medals. Menatalah Elhawary of Egypt prevailed in Junior Kumite Female -59kg while Yousif Ibrahim won the title in Junior Kumite Male -76kg. The third crown for Egypt was claimed by Farah Salama in Junior Kumite Female +66kg.

Italy continued extending their gold medal count after the success of the opening day. Asia Gruppioni won one more title for Italy, in Junior Female Kata

Meanwhile, in Junior Male Kata, Joao Vieira of Portugal surprised favourites and won his first Karate 1-Youth League title.  

The most numerous delegation of Iran increased their list of titles today since Fatemehzahra Saeidabadi claimed the crown in Junior Kumite Female -53kg.

Other leading countries of the sport also celebrated gold medals today. Uzbekistan’s Gulshan Alimardanova dominated the category of Junior Kumite Female -48kg while Amin Yadigarli won the first title for Azerbaijan in Junior Kumite Male -55kg, and the always successful delegation of Kazakhstan finished the day with the gold medal in Junior Kumite Male -68kg by Nurakhat Sattursyn.

The list of winners in Junior Female categories was completed with Leona Gulija of Croatia taking the title in Junior Kumite Female -66kg, Sultan Alqahtani of Saudi Arabia prevailing in Junior Kumite Male -61kg, and Gal Krzisnik of Slovenia dominating Junior Kumite Male +76kh.

The competition continues Saturday with the Cadet divisions taking the stage.
