Official Draw for the Karate World Cup Unveils Thrilling Matchups

The highly anticipated Official Draw for the Karate World Cup took place today in Madrid, Spain. Held at a live event and streamed on the World Karate Federation (WKF) YouTube channel, the Official Draw has set the stage for one of the most prestigious events in the sport.

WKF CEO Sara Wolff conducted the ceremony, with WKF Organising Committee chairperson Esteban Pérez and the representative of Sportdata, the official scoring service provider, Roland Breiteneider, joining on-site.
Narrated by WKF commentator Billy Brennan, the live event was honoured by the participation of four of the biggest Karate stars in the world who joined remotely to discuss each of the competition’s four categories. Antonio Diaz of Venezuela analysed the match-ups in Male Team Kata, while Anzhelika Terliuga of Ukraine shared her expertise on Female Team Kumite. Sakura Kokumai from the United States provided insights on Female Team Kata, and Douglas Brose of Brazil gave his perspective on the Male Team Kumite category.
With the draw now complete, all 80 participating teams know the path they will have to navigate to become the next Karate World Cup champions. The group distribution revealed today promises thrilling encounters in every category, from the early eliminations to the finals.
