New World Champions Crowned on Day 4 of 2024 World Cadet & Junior Championships

The fourth day of the 2024 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships in Venice-Jesolo, Italy, was a thrilling spectacle. The future stars of karate showcased their talents and claimed world titles in the Cadet and Junior categories, bringing moments of emotion and excitement.

 Cadet Kata Female:   Wakana Ito Wins Gold

Wakana Ito of Japan secured the gold in the Cadet Kata Female category. She delivered a strong performance, defeating Vietnam’s Anh Nguyen Mai Quynh with a score of 42.80 to 40.90, becoming the new world champion.

 

 Cadet Kata Male: Second gold for Japan 

In the Cadet Kata Male division, Japan’s Takeru Hamazawa triumphed over Tarik Koc of Turkiye. Hamazawa’s powerful technique earned him a score of 42.20, beating Koc’s 41.10 in a closely contested final.

 

 Cadet Kumite Male -52 kg; Maksym Viechkanov Takes Crown   

Ukraine’s Maksym Viechkanov claimed the world title in the Cadet Kumite Male -52 kg category. He fought a tight match against Abdulrahman Arafat of Saudi Arabia, emerging victorious with a 3-1 score.

 

 Cadet Kumite Male -57 kg:   Kabu Yagura Secure One More Gold for Japan

Kabu Yagura of Japan was crowned the champion in the Cadet Kumite Male -57 kg category after a commanding 5-1 win over Hatem Alharasees of Jordan. Yagura’s speed and precision proved too much for his opponent.

 

 Cadet Kumite Male -63 kg:   Mouaz Mostafa Becomes World Champion

Egypt’s Mouaz Mostafa took home the gold in the Cadet Kumite Male -63 kg final. He edged out Jorge Damian Flores Ortiz of Guatemala 3-2 in a closely fought battle that could have gone either way.

 

 Cadet Kumite Female -47 kg:   Rinri Oda Extends Japan’s Gold Medal Count

Japan’s Rinri Oda became the Cadet Kumite Female -47 kg world champion after a nail-biting 3-2 victory over Jana Vincic of Serbia. Oda’s agility and tactical approach helped her secure the win.

 

 Cadet Kumite Female -54 kg:   Mariia Hnes Takes Second Gold for Ukraine

Ukraine’s Mariia Hnes earned her place as the world champion in the Cadet Kumite Female -54 kg category. She won with a solid 4-1 victory over Poland’s Wiktoria Kraczaj, showcasing her dominant performance in Venice-Jesolo.

 

 Cadet Kumite Female -61 kg: Graziella Annael Ecchili Wins Crown in Front of Home Crowd 

Italy’s Graziella Annael Ecchili delighted the home crowd by winning gold in the Cadet Kumite Female -61 kg division. Ecchili beat Egypt’s Nourhan Elmorsi 5-1, controlling the fight from start to finish.

 

 Cadet Kumite Female 61+ kg:   Mariam Bsharat Claims Title

Palestine’s Mariam Bsharat became the new world champion in the Cadet Kumite Female 61+ kg category. She won a 2-0 victory over Egypt’s Roaa Mohamed, delivering a strong performance.

 

 Cadet Kumite Male -70 kg:   Almerico Tommasino Gives Italy More Reasons to Celebrate

Italy’s Almerico Tommasino dominated the final of the Cadet Kumite Male -70 kg category, defeating Jusuf Saljiu of Montenegro 8-0. Tommasino’s power and precision earned him the world title on home soil.

 

 Cadet Kumite Male 70+ kg: Arashi Chiba Adds More World Title for Japan   

Japan’s Arashi Chiba secured gold in the Cadet Kumite Male 70+ kg category after a high-scoring final against Saudi Arabia’s Amro Albargawi. Chiba triumphed with a 7-5 victory, showcasing his attacking prowess.

 

Junior Kata Female:   Azusa Takata Wins Gold

Azusa Takata of Japan delivered a standout performance in the Junior Kata Female category, securing the gold medal with a score of 43.20. She outperformed Yasmin Henrique of Brazil, who scored 41.00, claiming the title in a strong final.

 

Junior Kata Male: Title for Soshi Okumura 

In the Junior Kata Male division, Japan’s Soshi Okumura claimed victory with an impressive score of 44.40. Okumura defeated Spain’s Izan Lopez Tomas, who scored 42.20, to earn the world championship title.

 

 Junior Kumite Male -55 kg: Hani Rashid Takes Crown   

Jordan’s Hani Rashid earned a hard-fought win in the Junior Kumite Male -55 kg category. Rashid defeated Thailand’s Thanakorn Taolek 1-0 in a closely contested match, showcasing his tactical precision.

 

 Junior Kumite Male -61 kg: Emanuele Califano Wins Gold for Italy   

Italy’s Emanuele Califano delighted the home crowd with a dominant performance in the Junior Kumite Male -61 kg division. Califano outclassed Saad Alsaif of Saudi Arabia, winning 8-0 to take the gold medal.

 

 Junior Kumite Male -68 kg:   Mohamed Ashraf Mohamed Claims Title

Egypt’s Mohamed Ashraf Mohamed claimed an emphatic victory in the Junior Kumite Male -68 kg category, beating Italy’s Alvise Toniolo 11-1. Mohamed’s superior display earned him the world title.

 

 Junior Kumite Female -48 kg:   Ludovica Legittimo Increases Italy’s Gold Medal Count

Italy’s Ludovica Legittimo emerged as the champion in the Junior Kumite Female -48 kg category, narrowly defeating Agnes Nyman of Sweden 1-0. Legittimo’s resilience in the final secured her the gold medal.

 

 Junior Kumite Female -53 kg: Juria Natori Adds Title to Japan’s List 

Japan’s Juria Natori earned a thrilling 3-2 victory over Alexandra Wolf of Germany in the Junior Kumite Female -53 kg final. Natori’s win added another gold medal to Japan’s impressive tally.

 

 Junior Kumite Female -59 kg: Monica Arzumian Wins Crown   

France’s Monica Arzumian took home the gold in the Junior Kumite Female -59 kg category after defeating Gulnur Koishybai of Kazakhstan 6-2.

 

 Junior Kumite Female -66 kg:   Mariam Tantawi Claims World Title

Egypt’s Mariam Tantawi won the Junior Kumite Female -66 kg world title after a decision (hantei) win against Elize Bauld of Scotland. The match ended 0-0, with Tantawi prevailing in the judges’ decision.

 

 Junior Kumite Female 66+ kg:   Sara Tomic Wins Gold

Croatia’s Sara Tomic became the Junior Kumite Female 66+ kg world champion after a narrow 2-1 victory over Amalie Hakova of the Czech Republic. Tomic’s tactical control led her to the gold medal.

 

 Junior Kumite Male -76 kg:   Alikhan Kadyrgali Prevails

Kazakhstan’s Alikhan Kadyrgali delivered a strong performance in the Junior Kumite Male -76 kg division, defeating Sven Strahija of Croatia 3-0. Kadyrgali’s win earned him the world championship title.

 

Junior Kumite Male +76 kg:   Abdullah Alqahtani Takes Crown

Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Alqahtani defeated local hopeful Federico Supino to win the title of Junior Kumite Male +76kg. The Saudi karateka won the title with a slim 2-1 triumph.  

 

Day 4 of the championships was packed with excitement, as young karate stars from around the world rose to the occasion, leaving their mark on the global stage. The event will conclude Sunday with the last day of finals.
