Introducing the Grand Winner in Female Kumite -61Kg: Anita Serogina of Ukraine!

Current number one in the WKF World Ranking, Anita Serogina is one of the athletes in the best form on the international scene. She became the new Grand Winner of the category after claiming three medals in the season, including golds in Matosinhos and Baku.

Serogina started the season with a silver medal in Fujairah. The Ukrainian athletes bounced back to win the title at the second event in Matosinhos, following a 3-2 victory over Assel Kanay of Kazakhstan.

After taking the bronze medal at the European Championships, Serogina went back to the top of the podium in Baku, where she defeated Anna-Johanna Nilsson of Sweden 2-0.

Born in Chornomorsk, she represented her country in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, where she finished in fifth place. In addition to her Olympic participation and her honours in Karate 1-Premier League, Serogina has the crowns at The World Games 2022 and the 2019 European Games under her belt.

The Ukrainian athlete is the current World Championships runner-up of the category and has won two continental titles, in 2013 in the individual competition and in 2017 in the team category.
