Karate's youth travelling to Fujairah for anticipated event

The 2023 Karate 1-Youth League Fujairah opens the season of Karate’s massive series of international events for youngsters. The tournament is scheduled for February 23 to 26.
With the popularity of the Karate 1-Youth League growing by the year, the season of the WKF’s tournament for promising karatekas starts next week in Fujairah (UAE).
Over 1100 athletes from 67 countries have registered to participate in the anticipated event. The tournament is slated to begin on Thursday, February 23.
To accommodate the growing number of competitors attending the event, the competition calendar of Karate 1-Youth League for the season 2023 is extended one day. This increase in the number of competition days will be inaugurated at the event in Fujairah.
The tournament is set to continue the excitement of previous seasons. An average of 1500 young athletes from 48 countries participated in the four events of 2022.
The powerhouse nation of Egypt topped the medal table of the events last year with 14 gold medals, followed by Italy with 11 golds and Croatia and Germany with nine top awards. Representatives of Ukraine and Montenegro also registered deserving performances. No less than 36 countries took home gold medals last year, a testament to the popularity and global impact of Karate around the world.
The city of Fujairah returns to the scene of major international events of the sport after hosting a Karate 1-Premier League tournament last year.
