The city of San Jose (Costa Rica) will host the 2023 PKF Senior Championships from May 26 to 28. The event will be highly anticipated not only because it will crown the new kings and queens of Karate in the Americas; the tournament will also qualify the participants for the 2023 Pan American Games.

Hundreds of karatekas from all over the continent will gather in San Jose for a memorable edition of the PKF Senior Championships. The event will be held at the Polideportivo BN Arena in San Jose.

In addition to crowning the new continental champions of the sport, the tournament in Costa Rica is a qualifying event for the 2023 Pan American Games to be held in Santiago (Chile). The two best athletes per category at the event will earn a ticket to take part in the Americas’ major event.

The last edition of the PKF Championships was held in Curacao in May 2022. The United States topped the medal table with seven medals, including four golds. Venezuela and Brazil also registered deserving performances, with 11 and 12 medals, respectively.
