Karate Stars to travel to Dublin for anticipated Karate 1 Premier League event

The upcoming 2023 Karate 1-Premier League event in Dublin will gather the biggest stars of the sport. Scheduled for September 8 to 10, the Karate 1-Premier League Dublin is the last tournament of the season.

Karate’s first-class series of international events will conclude in Dublin with a highly anticipated tournament to be held from September 8 to 10 at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena. A host of Karate Stars have confirmed their participation at the event.

 

Now that the registration process has been finished, nearly 400 athletes from 60 countries have confirmed their participation in the event. All but two of the 12 categories have completed the maximum number of 32 competitors per division.

 

The excitement around the event is so high that six current World champions and no less than 12 Olympic medallists will compete at the event in Dublin.

 

The list of leading names for the event is headed by Olympic Games gold medallists Ivet Goranova of Bulgaria and Steven Dacosta of France, who aim at the title of Female Kumite -55kg and Male Kumite -67kg respectively.

 

Six of the categories at stake in Dublin will have the current World titleholders competing at the event. Ahlam Youssef of Egypt in Female Kumite -55kg, Irina Zaretska of Azerbaijan in Female Kumite -68kg, Maria Torres of Spain in Female Kumite +68kg, Douglas Brose of Brazil in Male Kumite -60kg, Steven Dacosta of France in Male Kumite -67kg, and Youssef Badawy of Egypt in Male Kumite -84kg are the World champions fighting for gold in Dublin.

 

Moreover, fans will have the opportunity to watch the defending Grand Winners in action, in the last event of the season. All the current owners of the karategi with the golden embroidery, except for Aminagha Guliyev in Male Kumite -60kg will compete in Dublin. Hikaru Ono of Japan and Yorgelis Salazar of Venezuela, and Dionisyos Xenos of Greece and Mohamed Ramadan of Egypt are among the Grand Winners hoping to cause a sensation at the event.
