Karate represented at U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Sport Gathering in Colorado Springs

The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Sport community gathered for a significant meeting at the U.S. Olympic Museum in Colorado Springs. The event, which brought together some of the nation’s most influential sports leaders, including IOC President Thomas Bach, aimed to celebrate the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) achievements. Karate was represented by the Chair of the United States National Karate Federation (USANKF) and WKF Athletes Commission member Elisa Au.
The event was headed by International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach, USOPC Chair, and newly elected IOC member Gene Sykes, with USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland also in attendance. Representatives from various sports disciplines were also present.
Elisa Au represented karate at the gathering and her presence highlighted the growing importance of the sport within the U.S. sports landscape. The event provided an opportunity for leaders to discuss future initiatives aimed at enhancing the Olympic and Paralympic movement in the country.
WKF President Antonio Espinós praised Au’s contributions, stating:
