WKF Assistant General Secretary Davor Cipek took part in the FISU World Forum in Zagreb, Croatia. The event gathers students, officials, and key stakeholders involved in the University Sport Movement and brings together FISU Member Associations and partners to share experiences and best practices in university sports.

During the Forum, Mr. Cipek who is also the president of the Croatian Karate Union and General Secretary of the European Karate met European Parliament member and former Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Croatia Nikolina Brnjac.  Mr Cipek expressed his gratitude for Mrs Brnjac’s support in the organisation of the successful 2024 European Senior Karate and Para-Karate Championships, which were held in Zadar (Croatia) in May.

The Karate official also held discussions with FISU President Leonz Eder, as they explored further opportunities for collaboration between FISU and the WKF. The meeting highlighted the shared vision of both organisations to promote sports at the university level.

Karate debuted on the World University Championships sports programme in 1998 and has been an active member of FISU activities since then.
