The fourth event of the 2023 Karate 1-Youth League will be held in Merida (Mexico). The tournament is scheduled for September 21 to 24.

Mexico welcome a Karate 1-Youth League event again after hosting tournaments in Acapulco in 2022 and Cancun-Quintana Roo in 2018. The city of Mexico also hosted a major Karate event in 2022 with the PKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships.

The event in Merida aims at continuing the success of the tournaments in Fujairah (UAE), La Coruña (Spain), and Porec (Croatia) with the season ending in Venice (Italy) in December.
