Traditionally one of the highlights of the year of international karate, the Karate 1-Premier League Rabat is expected to capture the attention of fans and athletes since the tournament is included in the Olympic qualification process.

Rabat will be then hosting a tournament of the Karate 1-Premier League for the fourth consecutive year, as the Moroccan city has been a classic fixture in the calendar since 2016. While the event in 2020 had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, nearly 600 karatekas from 75 countries participated in the 2019 edition.
