The fourth Karate 1-Premier League event of the season travels to Baku (Azerbaijan). The tournament is scheduled for September 2 to 4.

The capital of one of the powerhouse nations of the sport, Baku is welcoming its first major Karate international competition after hosting the European Games in 2015 and the Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017.

The city was expected to host a Karate 1-Premier League event in 2021 but the tournament had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Expectations are therefore running high among the Azeri Karate fans as the sport continues growing in popularity in the country.

After the events in Fujairah (UAE), Rabat (Morocco), and Lisbon (Portugal), the Karate 1-Premier League Baku is the fourth event of the year of Karate’s first-class series of events.
