Iran and Kazakhstan prevail in Junior categories of AKF Championships

The Junior categories took the stage of the 2021 Asian Karate Championships being held in Almaty (Kazakhstan). Hosts of Kazakhstan and Iran dominated the competition and topped the medal table in this division.

Iranian karatekas claimed four gold medals in the Junior categories. Melika Ezati Jodaghieh took the title in Junior Female Kata while Fatemeh Bodagh won the crown in Junior Kumite Female -59kg. Sarina Fathicheshme continued the gold medal count for Iran in Junior Kumite Female +59kg as the Iranian Junior Male Kata Team also prevailed today.

Meanwhile, the organising country also had reasons to celebrate as they took three golds today. Ablaikhan Chshorsov won the title in Junior Kumite Male -68kg, just as teammate Olzhas Altynbek in Junior Kumite Male -61kg. The third gold for the hosts was taken by Bella Samasheva in Junior Kumite Female -53kg.

The list of gold medallists in Junior categories was completed by Hazel Ramadhan of INAKF in Junior Kata Male, Umida Aisaeva of Kyrgyzstan in Junior Kumite Female -48kg, Sultan Alqahtani of Saudi Arabia in Junior Kumite Male -55kg, Mohammad Aljafari of Jordan in Junior Kumite Male -78kg, and Ali Alali of Kuwait in Junior Kumite Male -76kg.

The competition continues today with the U21 categories.
