Host nation and Egyptian karatekas prevail on Day 2 of #KarateKonya2022

The second day of the competition of the 2022 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships put the spotlight on Cadet and Junior categories. The host country of Turkiye and the powerhouse nation of Egypt celebrated a successful day with three representatives in the finals respectively.
The delegations of Japan and Turkiye extended the successful participation that they achieved on day 1 to the second day of the event as they added more final spots in Cadet categories.
Towana Uchida passed Japan’s impressive performance in Kata to Kumite with her qualification to the final of Cadet Female Kumite -47kg. Her rival will be Zuzanna Dopieralska of Poland.
Hosts of Turkiye also celebrated one qualification to the finals in Cadet divisions as Buse Kilic made it to the last bout of Cadet Kumite Female -54kg. She will clash for gold against Maysa Ksantini of Tunisia.
The second opportunity of gold for the organising nation came in Junior Kumite Male -68kg. Enes Fatih Kurt made it to the final and will meet Ali Mugari of Saudi Arabia for the title.
Turkish karatekas completed their impressive performance today with a third spot in the finals. Yusuf Eren Temizel qualified for the last bout of Junior Kumite Male +76kg. He will fight for the title against Yousef Nofal of Jordan.
Representatives of Jordan also made it to the final in Junior Kumite Male -76kg. Saif Addeen Bani Fares is paired for gold against Emre Saljiu of Montenegro.
THREE FINALS FOR EGYPT
The Egyptian delegation completed a successful day as they put three of their representatives in the finals. Fatma Sorour took the flag of Egypt to the final of Junior Kumite Female -59kg where she will meet Emma Lili Loyal of Hungary.
The second spot in the title-deciding bouts for Egypt was taken by Ganna Aly in Junior Kumite Female -48kg. The promising Egyptian karateka will fight for the crown against Thao Phuong Nguyen of Vietnam.
Egypt’s impressive participation was wrapped up in Junior Kumite Female +59kg where Rahma Tolba qualified to fight for gold against Hannah Riedel of Germany.
In Junior Kumite Male -61kg, Abdulaziz Alsaif claimed the second final spot for Saudi Arabia of the day. His rival will be Maxim Moskvichyov of Kazakhstan.
Asian powerhouse nation of Vietnam celebrated two finals today, the second in Junior Female Kumite -53kg. Thi Dieu Ly Nguyen of Vietnam and Nejma Imitik of Morocco will fight for the title.
The rest of the finals also had leading nations on the line. In Junior Kumite Male -55kg, Mathias Kerneur of France will clash for gold against Farid Savadov of Azerbaijan.
