Georgia Prepares to Host Inaugural EKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Karate Championships

The city of Tbilisi in Georgia is set to make history as it hosts the European Karate Federation (EKF) Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships for the first time. The prestigious international karate event is scheduled to take place in the capital city of the Eastern European country from February 9 to 11, promising a thrilling showcase of young Karate talent from across the continent.
With just one week remaining until the opening of the event, anticipation is building in the Georgian capital as the city transforms into a hub of excitement for karate enthusiasts.
The EKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships are expected to draw top-tier young athletes from all over Europe, showcasing their skills and competing for glory in a range of categories. Over 1160 athletes from 49 nations are registered to compete in Tbilisi.
The last edition of the event was held last year in Larnaca (Cyprus) and it attracted over 1100 competitors from 48 countries. The powerhouse nation of Spain topped the final medal table with 13 medals, followed by Italy and Ukraine with 17 and 8 medals, respectively.
As the countdown to the EKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships begins, Tbilisi gears up to welcome karate enthusiasts from around the continent. The event is sure to leave an indelible mark on the rich tapestry of Georgia's sporting history, setting the stage for more international competitions in the future.
The competition is scheduled to start on Friday, February 9 at 9:00 (local time). The tournament will continue throughout the weekend, with the medal bouts slated for Sunday (from 09:00 to 20:00).
