Young karatekas continued demonstrating the strength of underage Karate as the future stars of the sport were crowned in the third day of competition of the Karate 1-Youth League Venice-Jesolo. The anticipated event taking place in Venice-Jesolo (Italy) is breaking all participation records and is making history for the discipline.

The eight tatamis installed in Palainvent sports hall were full of action in day 3 of competition. After thrilling elimination rounds, the medal bouts started with a celebration for local fans. Sonia Inzoli won the second gold for Italy after prevailing in Cadet Female Kata. Petru Comanescu of Romania produced one of the big upsets of the day following a tight victory over favourite Alejandro Jimenez of Spain in Cadet Male Kata. 

The rest of the day was devoted to Cadet Kumite competition. Valeriia Andrieieva extended the successful performance of Ukrainian athletes at the event with the gold medal in Cadet Kumite Female -47kg while Adela Vlasakova claimed the fourth title for Slovakia with a hard-fought triumph in Cadet Kumite Female -54kg. The last title of the day in Cadet Female Kumite went to Japan as Ako Kawaai took the crown in the +54kg division. 

Powerhouse nation of France also had reasons to celebrate in day 3 of competition since two young karatekas from the European nation went home with gold medals. Ahmed El Amine Hellal prevailed in Cadet Male Kumite -52kg, and Lenny Deric took the crown in Cadet Kumite Male -63kg. Artsiom Azarkevich in Cadet Kumite Male -57kg completed the list of gold medallists in day 3.

The competition ends on Sunday with the last day of the tournament. Younger karatekas will take the spotlight in the final day since the winners in U14 categories will be decided on Sunday.
