Future of European Karate to meet in Budapest

Young karatekas from all over Europe will demonstrate their abilities in Budapest (Hungary) from February 7 to 9 as they compete in the 2020 EKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships. 

Young karatekas from all over Europe will demonstrate their abilities in Budapest (Hungary) from February 7 to 9 as they compete in the 2020 EKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships.

Over 1100 youngsters from 52 European countries are travelling to the capital of Hungary to fight for the gold medals at stake. This tally showcases the outstanding popularity of the sport at young ages in Europe.

The event is scheduled from February 7 to 9. The tournament begins on Friday, February 7 with kata and cadet categories. Kata Team and Junior categories will take the stage on Saturday while the event will conclude on Sunday with U21 divisions.

The last edition of the EKF underage championships was held in Aalborg (Denmark) last year. Turkey topped the medal table of the event with 16 medals including six golds. Italy with 11 medals and five golds and Russian Federation with 12 medals and five golds also registered deserving performances. No less than 1090 youngsters from 51 countries participated in the event.
