The 2024 UFAK Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships are set to take place in Tunis, Tunisia, from September 6 to 8. This prestigious event will gather the best young karatekas from across Africa, showcasing the rising talent in the sport.
As karate continues to gain popularity on the continent, particularly among younger generations, this tournament is expected to highlight the significant progress being made in African karate.
With over 400 athletes from 23 countries registered, the championships promise to be a thrilling display of skill and determination. This event is not only a competition but also a celebration of the growing karate community in Africa, reflecting the increasing number of fans and practitioners embracing the sport.
The last edition of the UFAK Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships was held the previous year in Casablanca, Morocco, alongside the Senior Championships. Morocco dominated the medal table in the age-group categories, securing an impressive 11 gold medals. Egypt followed closely with 6 golds, while Tunisia and Algeria each claimed 3 golds.
