Europe's Karate stars to clash for gold in Guadalajara

The best Karate athletes in Europe will gather in Guadalajara (Spain) from March 22 to 26 to fight for the continental title in the anticipated 2023 EKF Senior Karate Championships.

As the event passes the -7-Day count, Karate stars from all over Europe are travelling to Guadalajara to clash in the 58th edition of the continental tournament. Over 500 athletes from 48 countries have registered to take part in the event.

Not only the new kings and queens of European Karate will be crowned in Guadalajara; the event is set to be memorable as the tournament is a qualifier for the 2023 European Games. Therefore, the karatekas to represent the sport at the next edition of the European Games in Poland will be decided in Guadalajara.

The domination of European Karate will also be at stake. Turkiye topped the medal table of the last edition, followed by Croatia and Spain.

Defending champions Serap Ozcelik Arapoglu of Turkiye, Anzhelika Terliuga of Ukraine, Eray Samdan of Turkiye, and Andjelo Kvesic of Croatia will be among the many stars fighting for gold in Guadalajara.

The host nation will be headed by Olympic Games medallist Damian Quintero and World champion Maria Torres, with 23 athletes competing at home.
