EKF Official appointed head of Ukraine's State Agency of Sports

EKF Executive Committee member Sergii Levchuk has been appointed chief of Ukraine’s State Agency of Sports.

EKF Executive Committee member Sergii Levchuk has been appointed chief of Ukraine’s State Agency of Sports.

Mr. Levchuk acted as President of the Ukrainian Karate Federation before being nominated as the head of the State Agency of Sports. Leader of the National Karate Federation for the past ten years, Mr. Levchuk had taken the Ukrainian Karate Federation to a bright period of accomplishments inside and outside the tatami. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the European Karate Federation since 2018.

The announcement of Mr. Levchuk’s designation was made by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Volodymyr Borodyansky on February 19. The Karate official was introduced to the national press in his new role last week.

The State Agency of Sports is a newly-created institution aiming to coordinate modern sport structures in the country while launching a reform in all the national sports sectors as well as preparing athletes in their road to the Olympic Games, as stated by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Volodymyr Borodyansky.

Mr. Levchuk was selected among 27 candidates to lead the highest sports institution in the country. His position as President of the Ukrainian Karate Federation is now taken by Mr. Ivan Dutchak.
