EKF Executive Committee Reviews Remarkable Progress of Karate in Europe

As the 2024 European Karate Federation (EKF) Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships kick off in Tbilisi, Georgia, the Executive Committee of the EKF convened for a crucial meeting to address various relevant matters pertinent to the future of the sport in Europe.

Among the primary agenda items were the presentation of the financial report, the revision of the EKF long-term schedule, reports from the chairmen of EKF commissions, and the evaluation of the EKF major events including the Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships of this weekend in Tbilisi and the upcoming Senior Championships in Zadar (Croatia).

In his remarks, the President of the EKF emphasized the importance of collaboration and unity in driving the sport forward, highlighting the shared commitment to excellence and innovation within the karate community. He commended the dedication of all stakeholders and expressed optimism for the brilliant future of karate in Europe.

EKF and WKF President Antonio Espinós said:

“Our sport is reaching never-before-seen heights, and this achievement was accomplished as a result of the hard work and cooperation of all the parties involved. As our events continue being the cornerstone of our progress, I encourage all the members of the European Karate family to do their utmost to maximise the opportunities to increase the excellence and legacy of our competitions. The EKF must continue being steadfast in its mission to promote, develop, and safeguard the practice of karate in Europe for generations to come.”

With all the members of the Executive Committee in attendance, the meeting also had the participation of the Georgian Karate Federation President Temur Gignadze who welcomed all the stakeholders to the first-ever major Karate event in the country.
