Egypt show strength in opening day of UFAK Senior & Junior Championships

The biggest event of African Karate opened today in Tangier (Morocco) with day 1 of the 2020 UFAK Senior & Junior Championships. The event crowned the new kings and queens of African Karate.

Egyptian karatekas demonstrated an outstanding level in Kata with victories in both Cadet and Junior Male and Female Kata Team. In addition to the two crowns in team kata, the African powerhouse nation claimed the titles in Cadet Female Kata as Jana Khamis defeated local hopeful Marwa Salmi, and in Junior Female Kata, with Shrouk Elhnawy taking the continental crown.



Hosts of Morocco also had reasons to celebrate today since the organising country finished the day with two gold medals. Eddine El Mansoury Salah won the title in Cadet Male Kata while Monaem Maanoui Abdel became African champion in Junior Male Kata
