Egypt Shine at 2024 UFAK Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships in Tunis

The 2024 UFAK Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships, held in Tunis, Tunisia, saw Egypt dominating the final medal standings of the event after securing an impressive 33 medals, including 20 golds. Algeria and Morocco also made strong showings, finishing with 32 and 18 medals respectively.
Egypt dominated the cadet category, collecting six of the available gold medals. Algeria and Senegal trailed behind, each securing two golds. This performance highlighted Egypt’s prevalence in nurturing young talent, as their athletes consistently showed strength in the division.
In the junior competition, Egypt were even more dominant. Out of the 12 gold medals on offer, Egyptian karatekas claimed nine. Their athletes delivered a near-perfect performance, showcasing not only skill but the depth of the country’s capacity.
The U21 category saw a more balanced competition. Egypt and Algeria shared the spotlight, each winning three golds. Tunisia, the host nation, along with Morocco, also made their mark with two gold medals each.
The championship brought together some of the best young karate athletes from across Africa. The competition was fierce, and it was clear that the sport is growing in strength on the continent. With Egypt topping the medal table and strong performances from Algeria, Morocco, and other countries, the tournament underscored the expanding talent pool in African karate.
