Powerhouse nations triumph on day 1 of #Karate1Venice

The 2022 Karate 1-Youth League Venice started on Friday. The opening day of the competition was a massive celebration of Karate and finished with karatekas from Slovakia, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina topping the medal table.

Slovakia celebrated two medals today as Nina Kvasnicova prevailed in Junior Kumite Female -53kg and Anna Vaczy followed suit in Junior Kumite Female -59kg.

Also with two titles today, Bosnia and Herzegovina finished the day on a high note since Luka Pejic prevailed in Junior Kumite Male -61kg and Omar Halilovic dominated Junior Kumite Male +76kg.

Ukraine, competing in Venice with one of the most numerous delegations, also had reasons to celebrate on day 1 of #Karate1Venice. Polina Marchenko won the title in Junior Kumite Female -48kg while Daniel Simonenko became the winner of Junior Kumite Male -55kg.

Hosts of Italy had started the day triumphantly as Asia Gruppioni became the champion in Junior Kata Female. Meanwhile,  powerhouse nation of the sport showcased their strength in Venice as Jose Maria Arribas of Spain claimed the crown in Junior Kata Male and Suleyman Aydemir of Turkiye took the title in Junior Kumite Male -76kg

Rinesa Osmani of Kosovo in Junior Kumite Female -59kg, and Guilherme Goncalvez of Portugal in Junior Kumite Male -68kg completed the titleholders in Junior categories.
