Countdown to Karate World Championships intensifies

The 2021 Karate Senior World Championships start in less than one month.

As Karate’s biggest event reaches the -1 Month mark, preparations continue in Dubai to host the anticipated 25th edition of the Karate World Championships.

The official bulletin #2 is now online thus providing updates on logistics and organisational matters on the event. Regulations on COVID countermeasures and new info on accommodation are the main elements being revised in the new version of the bulletin.

The 2021 Karate World Championships will take place in Dubai (UAE) from November 16 to 21, 2021. The event is highly anticipated as it comes with one year delay following the postponement due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Karate’s best athlete will gather in less than one month at Hamdan Sports Complex. The modern and state-of-the-art sports hall will be the venue where the 25th edition of the biggest event of the sport will be held.

Built upon 24 hectares of land, Hamdan Sports Complex is one of the largest multi-purpose facilities in the world. With a capacity for 15,000 spectators, the venue was completed in 2010 and has hosted many first-class events including the World Swimming Championships in 2010.

The last edition of the Karate World Championships was held in Madrid (Spain) in 2018. Over 1100 competitors from 131 countries participated in the event. Japan topped the final medal table with 10 medals including four golds, followed by Iran and France.
