Belgium dominate Junior categories in #Karate1Porec

The second day of action at the 2023 Karate 1-Youth League Porec had the representatives of Belgium taking the spotlight after winning three titles in Junior divisions.

The gold medal count for Belgium started in Junior Kumite Female -66kg since Ayah El Aidi became the champion of the category following a 4-2 triumph over Montenegro’s Nadja Boricic.


Belgium’s success continued in Junior Kumite Male -55kg. Amin Abdelmalki upset Kazakhstan’s Kirill Moskvichov 3-0.


Ethan Panza extended the gold medal list of Belgium with a 4-1 triumph over Italy’s Raffaele Astarita in the final of Junior Kumite Male -68kg.


The flag of the host country of Croatia went to the top of the podium in Junior Female Kumite -59kg as Mia Cacko took a slim victory 4-4 over Germany’s Anastasiia Semenenko.


After their successful performance on the opening day, Ukraine added one more gold in the All-Ukrainian final of Junior Kumite Female +66kg. Dariia Bulay beat Yuliia Krot 2-1.


Spain continued showing strength in Kata divisions and claimed the title in Junior Female Kata following Carla Guardeno’s victory over Egypt’s Habiba Mousa (42.7 to 41.3).


A Spanish representative also qualified for the final of Junior Kata Male, but Haruki Inoue of Japan was too strong and won the first title for the birth nation of the sport (scores of 42.7 to 41.7).


The powerhouse nation of Kazakhstan also celebrated titles today since Kaussar Yesteussiz defeated Spain’s Mireia Vizuete in the final of Junior Kumite Female -48kg (3-1).


In Junior Kumite Female -53kg, Hira Nur Temizel inaugurated the gold medal count for Turkiye. The promising karateka edged Teodora Tsaneva of Bulgaria by a slim 1-0.


The list of countries taking gold today was extended even more since Nichita Grigorasenco of Moldova claimed the title in Junior Kumite Male -76kg. The Moldovan representative beat Ukraine’s Illia Bykov 6-3.


Serbia’s Mihajlo Krnajac’s victory over Italy’s Fabrizio Giordano in Junior Kumite Male -61kg (3-2) and Italy’s Nicholas Martellini triumph in Junior Kumite Male +76kg over Yusuf Eren Temizel of Turkiye 3-3 completed the list of gold medals in Junior divisions.
