Asian Karate elite to meet in Malaysia
The city of Melaka in Malaysia hosts the 2023 AKF Senior and Para-Karate Championships. The new heroes of the sport in Asia will be crowned in Malaysia from July 21 to 23.
Held at the Melaka International Trade Centre Ayer Keroh, the AKF Senior and Para-Karate Championships will continue the progress of the sport in the continent.
The last edition of the event was held last year in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). Over 700 athletes from 28 countries participated in the event, with Japan topping the final medal table with 13 medals, including 8 golds. Jordan and Kazakhstan also registered deserving performances, claiming a tally of seven and eight medals respectively.
Hikaru Ono of Japan, Kakeru Nishiyama of Japan, Assel Kanay of Kazakhstan, and Abdel Rahman Almasatfa of Jordan were among the stars of the event last year in Tashkent.
