“It is an honour to receive such strong support to continue leading the organisation for a new tenure and thus have the opportunity to continue making my utmost to extend the progress of Karate in Europe even more. Together, we have made Karate one of the most modern, exciting, and respectable sports in Europe. For that, I will always be extremely grateful.”

Out of the 36 valid votes, a total of 34 delegates approved the re-election of Mr Espinós by secret vote.

Mr Espinós, who is also the President of the World Karate Federation was first elected to lead the continental organisation in 1997 in Tenerife (Spain).

Mr Espinós added:

While the progress of Karate in Europe has been outstanding over the last few years, it is not the time to be complacent. We must celebrate the fantastic cooperation of all the National Federations members, the EKF Executive Committee and officials, and the whole European Karate family to take our sport where Karate truly deserves to be. We still have a lot of goals to accomplish, and with your contribution, with your help and hard work, we will make our dreams a reality.”
