The Asian Karate Federation has informed that the 2020 AKF Senior Championships and the 2020 AKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Both events are suspended until a later date yet to be confirmed.

Asian Karate organisation decided to postpone its two biggest events of the year because of the Covid-19 epidemic and the impossibility to hold the tournaments with enough guarantees for athletes, staff members and fans. The two events will be transferred to a date no later than the beginning of October 2021.

The 2020 AKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships were scheduled to take place in Kuwait from July 10 to 12. Meanwhile, the 2020 AKF Senior Championships were initially planned to be held in Bali (Indonesia) from September 4 to 6. “The current development of the pandemic does not enable us to see the light at the end of the tunnel,” pointed out the AKF in a statement.
