2025 Games of Small States of Europe discussed at high profile meeting

WKF President Antonio Espinós sat with representatives of the Small States of Europe Karate Federation (SSEKF) to discuss updates on the 2025 edition of the Games of the Small States of Europe to be held in Andorra.

Karate’s participation in the event was reviewed at the meeting, which was held in Budapest (Hungary) and was attended by representatives of the National Federations of the Small States of Europe, headed by SSEKF President Andreas Vasileou. WKF Executive Committee member and EKF General Secretary Davor Cipek also participated in the meeting.

The ninth edition of the Small States of Europe Karate Championships in Luxembourg was also evaluated. The SSEKF has experienced tremendous development over the years, and a roadmap of the progress of the organisation was also analysed, with goals for the 2027 Games of the Small States of Europe to be held in Monaco.

WKF and EKF President Antonio Espinós said:

“Karate is such a strong and popular sport all over the world because our sport manages to be highlighted and manages to show its values in all the countries where our organisation is represented, whether big or small. I am pleased to note that the Small States of Europe Karate Federation is doing its utmost to take Karate to its highest levels of popularity in its area of influence.  I want to thank president Andreas Vasileou and all the SSEKF members for their hard work and contribution.”
