The 2024 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships, the most anticipated karate tournament of the year for young athletes, is just around the corner. In less than 30 days, Venice, Italy, will welcome the world's top youth karate competitors to one of the sport’s most prestigious events.
Known for hosting the largest Karate 1-Youth League every year, Venice has established itself as a major hub for youth karate, making it the ideal location for this exciting championship.
Preparations are in full swing, with organisers working hard to ensure the tournament will be a memorable experience for both athletes and fans. With two weeks left before registration closes, over 800 young karatekas from 62 countries have already confirmed their participation. Given the growing interest in this event, the number of athletes is expected to break all records and is set to surpass previous editions.
The 2022 edition, held in Konya, Türkiye, saw over 1,700 competitors from 98 countries. Japan dominated the event, finishing at the top of the medal table, followed by hosts Türkiye and Egypt.
The World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships are a key event in the development of future karate stars. With Venice already being a favourite destination for youth karate, thanks to its annual Karate 1-Youth League event, the upcoming championships promise to be a spectacular celebration of the sport.
