Karate officials defend Paris 2024 inclusion in Japan

Karate representatives in Japan held a press conference in Tokyo to request the inclusion of the sport in the programme of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The event had the participation of WKF General Secretary Toshihisa Nagura and Japan Karatedo Federation president and WKF Honorary President Takashi Sasakawa.

The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2020) unveiled the official sport pictograms of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.  Two-time World champion Kiyou Shimizu represented Karate at the event and demonstrated the popularity of the sport in the host country of the 2020 Olympic Games with her participation in the ceremony of presentation of the pictograms.

Pan American Karate heroes to clash for glory in Panama

The Arena Roberto Duran sports hall in Panama hosts the 33rd edition of the PKF Karate Championships. The event is scheduled to take place in Panama from March 18 to 23 and it will gather the best karatekas in the continent. The Pan American karate heroes hope to make history in Panama as the quest to win the Olympic qualification intensifies.

The Organising Committee of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 (COJO) welcomed on Wednesday, March 6 the President of the World Karate Federation (WKF), Antonio Espinos, the General Secretary of the WKF Toshihisa Nagura and the President of the French Karate Federation Francis Didier. At the meeting, the COJO was represented by its President Tony Estanguet, the General Director Etienne Thobois, the Director of Sports Jean-Philippe Gatien, and the Deputy Director of Sports Aurelie Merle.
