Innovative new karate-gis see light on Karate 1-Premier League

Following the innovations of the 2017 edition of the Karate 1-Premier League, a new design of karate-gis have been introduced in the first-class of international Karate events this season. From this year on, the karate-gis being used in the top series of Karate competitions will have the brand and logo of the homologated producer embroiled on the shoulder, both in blue and red colours.

One of the main improvements for the Karate 1-Premier League affected the karate-gis being used in the tournament. The new regulations allow competitors to wear karate-gis presenting the name and logo of the brand of the producer on the shoulder. This inscription can be done in blue or red, depending if the karateka is acting as “Ao” or “Aka” in the bout.

This modification aims at improving the identification of competitors by the spectators. It also intends to raise the showmanship of the competition while increasing the branding of the producers of karate-gis.
