The first 2016 Premier League open was started in Paris this week, with the new record of 1021 athletes registered from 75 countries, among which the top karatekas of the world.


For the twentieth time, French Karate Federation hosted the « Open de Paris » (Karate1 Premier League) into Pierre de Coubertin Sport Hall.

For the twentieth time, French Karate Federation hosted the « Open de Paris » (Karate1 Premier League) into Pierre de Coubertin Sport Hall.

 

With a quality program and top athletes from the world, the competition attracted a wide audience knew French and foreign.

 

Many of top athletes, such as Alexandra Recchia (World & European female kumite -50kg Champion - France), Erkan Ernes (World & European kumite +84kg Champion - Turkey), Shimizu Kiyou (World kata female Champion - Japan) have confirmed their confidence and finish on the podium of this tournament.

 

Concerning the classification of nations, France is the first nation to counter with 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 10 bronze medals for a total of 16 medals. Japan ranks second (3/2/1), followed by Turkey (2/1/4).
