Last 22 July, in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, during the Central American and Caribbean Games (of all the sports), took place the election of the President and EC of the CCCK (Central American and Caribbean Karate Federation), following the process agreed in Quito in the month of May in the presence of the PKF President William Millerson and the WKF President Antonio Espinós. The elections were supervised by the WKF EC member Jose García Maañon.
The election process was running smoothly and Arturo Castillo, President of the Venezuela Federation, was elected new President of the CCCK, closing the period of differences and discrepancies. Almost 20 NFs attended the Congress, which is a record participation never achieved before. The WKF looks forward to be in closed contact with this CCCK and to help the CCCK, through the PKF, in the necessary development of the area. For this, the WKF President and the PKF President are already in contact and the WKF expects to receive the PKF proposals soon.
The NF's attending the Congress were the following ones:
México, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, Belize, Guatemala, Netherlands Antilles, Cayman Islands, Colombia, Trinidad & Tobago, Puerto Rico, Haití, Barbados, Venezuela, Surinam and Dominican Republic.
